8:50 am – 9:00 am : 10 Minutes of practice
9:00 am – 1:30 pm : 6 games qualifying moving right to the next pair of lanes after 1 game. (TBD)
1:30 pm – 2:15 pm : scores tallied and posted.
Jr. Gold Spots/SMART Scholarships/Awards will be awarded based on the 6 Qualifying games, and will be awarded after qualifying block is completed.
All bowlers are competing for SMART Scholarships, but not all bowlers will be competing for Gold Spots. You do not need to be bowling for a Jr. Gold Spot to compete in any of our (GLJGT) tournaments – all tournaments award SMART Scholarships and Awards to top finishers.

U20+ – AUGUST 1, 2000 TO JULY 31, 2005 ( NO GOLD SPOT AVAILABLE) – (MONIES WILL BE AWARDED IN SMART SCHOLARSHIP ONLY).
NOTE: DUE TO THE NEW USBC STATEMENT REGARDING THE U20 DIVISION (MAY 16,2023) – WE WILL NOT BE OFFERING U20 JUNIOR GOLD SPOTS.

TOURNAMENT NO SHOWS – YOU FORFEIT YOUR ENTRY IF YOU DO NOT CONTACT US 24 HOURS BEFORE ONLINE REGISTRATIONS CLOSES @ MIDNIGHT TO CANCELL – IF YOU CANCEL 24 HOURS BEFORE THEN YOU WILL BE REFUNDED YOUR ENTRY FEE- MINUS $10.

3 – 9 Bowlers: Top 3 – 50%-30%-20% = 100%
10 – 24 Bowlers: Top 4 – 40%-30%-20%-10%=100%
25 – 48 Bowlers: Top 6 – 30%-25%-15%-10%-10%-10%=100%
49 + Bowlers: Top 8 – 25%-20%-15%-10%-10%-10%-5%-5 %
DRESS CODE REQUIRED: SLACKS (boy/girl) / SKORTS (girls) & COLLAR SHIRT OR JERSEY (bowling), see rules for specifics- tournament director has the right to ask you to change into something acceptable. NO JEANS/SHORTS/YOGA PANTS/ETC OR T-SHIRTS allowed during tournament play.
WHAT IS A GLJGT MEMBERSHIP?
Bowlers can choose to bowl as a GLJGT MEMBER (lower entry cost + perks) or a GLJGT NON-MEMBER (higher entry cost) this season (2023-2024). This membership is a separate cost ($35.00) and is not included in the entry fee. This is an opportunity to become a member of Great Lakes Jr. Gold Tour and is not to be confused with a USBC Jr. Gold Membership. If you become a member you will be able to enter our tournaments at a lower cost. If you bowl more than 2 tournaments then the membership will pay for itself in savings. We will produce a member card, and hand this to you at the event. GLJGT members will be awarded the progressive 300 jackpot for rolling a “300” game – GLJGT will purchase a “300” ring (not to exceed $100) – The late/walk in fee will be waived to any GLJGT member. THE FUNDS FROM THIS MEMBERSHIP HELPS THE GLJGT PROGRAM AND BENEFITS ALL YOUTH BOWLERS – PLEASE CONSIDER BEING A MEMBER OF OUR TOUR.

WHAT IS A USBC JUNIOR GOLD MEMBERSHIP?
In order to compete for the Jr. Gold Spot (DETROIT MI) , you must have a current 2023-2024 USBC Jr. Gold Membership ( which is an upgraded version of your USBC Standard membership-USBC rules). This is a separate purchase cost and is not included in our entry fee. This membership is an annual cost and is good until July 31 2024. You have the option to purchase during registration of any tournament – or separately under the membership tab – or online at bowl.com.

This option tells us if you would like to compete for a Jr. Gold Spot to the National Championships in Detroit Michigan 2024 (Y) or if you are already qualified for 2024 Nationals (AQ), or if you don’t want to compete for the Jr. Gold Spot, (N). This event is a Jr. Gold Qualifier: There is a separate cost for the option to bowl for a Jr. Gold Spot and is not included with your entry fee:

WHAT IS A JUNIOR GOLD NATIONALS?
JUNIOR GOLD NATIONALS IS HELD ONCE A YEAR IN JULY – IT IS A WEEK LONG EVENT FOR BOWLERS TO COMPETE FOR COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS AND THE OPPORTUNITY TO BE A PART OF TEAM USA ! (SEE BOWL.COM FOR MORE INFORMATION). COLLEGE COACHES WILL ALSO BE AT JUNIOR GOLD SCOUTING FOR THE NEXT SEVERAL YEARS ROSTERS. PRO BOWLERS WILL ALSO BE THERE FOR AUTOGRAPH OPPORTUNITIES AND SEVERAL BOWLING ASSESSORIES VENDERS WILL BE THERE DISPLAYING THE NEWEST PRODUCTS. JUNIOR GOLD NATIONALS IS ALSO A GREAT OPPORTUNITY TO MAKE NEW FRIENDSHIPS. THIS IS AN EVENT PARENTS AND BOWLERS DO NOT WANT TO MISS. QUALIFY FOR YOUR JUNIOR GOLD SPOT TO GO TO THE NATIONALS THROUGH OUR TOURNAMENT COMPETITIONS.
